Funding for Projects, Attendance at Courses and Meetings
The British Phycological Society has set aside funds to support student projects, students attending the Society's Annual Meeting and other meetings specifically concerned with algal biology, including non-award-bearing courses (for example at field centres) primarily concerned with algae. Further information is available here:
- BPS Funding Guidelines (pdf)
It also welcomes applications from scientists from Eastern Europe and developing countries for attendance at such meetings.
Funds are not unlimited, so preference will be given to those presenting papers or posters at the Annual Meeting. For meeting applications, preference will be given to those presenting posters or papers and to attendees at courses over those simply attending meetings. In all cases, preference will be given to members of the British Phycological Society. Students and others may join the Society concurrently with their application.
