European Journal of Phycology
History
The Journal has had four titles:
Phycolgical Bulletin (Vol. 1, Nos 1-6);
British Phycological Bulletin (Vol. 1, No. 7; Vol. 2, Nos 1-6; Vol 3, parts 1-3); British Phycological Journal (Vols 4-27); and
European Journal of Phycology (Vol. 28 to date). The Society decided in June 1955 to retrospectively rename the
Phycological Bulletin as the
British Phycological Bulletin and reissued Part 1 in a standard format with a title page. Some of the dates of publication may be nominal. Indices were published for each year. Membership lists were published in Vol. 1, nos 1-7. Fully fledged articles were published from 1(2) onwards, and Abstracts from papers read at the Annual Meeting were published from vols 1-27, and then moved to
The Phycologist. Letters to the Editor published in Vol. 1 were essentially short publications.

European Journal of Phycology was published from Vol. 28 onwards in 4 numbers annually.
